פִּצְחוּ רַנְּנוּ יַחְדָּו חָרְבוֹת יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם כִּי נִחַם יְהוָה עַמּוֹ גָּאַל יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם
“Break forth together in song, O ruins of Jerusalem, for Hashem has comforted His people.”

— Yeshayahu 52:9

Our newest initiative, Rannenu (sing together), pairs volunteers with brain injury survivors for joint Torah learning.

Rannenu recognizes that Torah learning must be accessible to everyone. For the person affected by aphasia and brain injury, verbalizing even one word of Torah may require inordinate amounts of energy and concentration. Nevertheless, these patient partners (chavruta) give a voice to what's inside.

Rannenu comes from rinnah — a cry of joy, a song that rises from the heart after silence or pain. It is a call to sing together — to bring voices, hearts, and lives into harmony.

The prophet’s words remind us that song is born not from perfection, but from the chorvot, the places life has tested and refined. Each of us carries some measure of brokenness, yet when our voices join, we become part of one redemptive harmony.

Through Torah, conversation, and presence, Rannenu invites us to sing together from the very places that have been silent — to transform isolation into connection and pain into purpose. The Torah is described as a shir — a living song, accessible to all. Each of us is commanded to learn Torah every day — “v’hagita bo yomam valayla.”

Some learn Daf Yomi, others the parsha, a mishna, or attend a shiurBut not everyone can do this on their own.

Rannenu transforms Talmud Torah into an act of chesed and Ahavat Yisrael — helping one another fulfill the mitzvah of learning through companionship, patience, and shared voice.

It is a living expression of Am Yisrael b’yachad — the Jewish people bound together through Torah and love.

Together — yachdav — we learn, connect, and rediscover that when we sing together, each soul learns to sing again.

Rannenu — Together we sing and help every voice find its song.

Rannenu's Programs

Kolot Chavruta – Voices of Learning

Pairing volunteers with brain-injury survivors for Torah learning or meaningful conversation — in person or on Zoom.

Every kol — every voice — matters.

Volunteers receive gentle communication guidance and simple tools to make learning comfortable, accessible, and enriching. Participants (in Israel or abroad) register through Koach Eitan’s website, and matching is coordinated to create the best learning pairs possible.

Zimrat David – LeDavid Barchi Nafshi

A meaningful weekly Zoom shiur (15 minutes) in English, on Thursdays at 15:15, designed for individuals living with aphasia or the effects of stroke and brain injury — and open to anyone who wishes to join, connect, and be inspired through Torah.

Led by Elizur Agus, sharing the Torah of David Schwartz Hy”d — words of faith, joy, and song that continue to inspire.

David Schwartz Hy"d, 26, served as a combat soldier in the Combat Engineering Corps’ 8219 Battalion, and was killed on January 8th 2024, 27 Tevet 5784 by an anti-tank missile in Khan Younis.

David wrote thoughts on each of the weekly Torah readings taken from the core of the Torah that he studied in depth with his unique spirit. The Torah thoughts were originally published on the occasion of his marriage to Meital.

His Torah insights are shared now for the elevation of his pure soul and for the sanctification of his blessed memory.
